General Data Protection Regulations
The Data Protection Act of 1995 has being replaced with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) from May 2018. There is a lot of talk about the changes and some untruths going around, so here at QBH we like to take some of the hot-air out of these things and present you with some facts, and a little guidance on how to meet these new regulations. Upcoming HR & GDPR Clinics
One of the most significant changes that businesses will face in 2018 will be the introduction of the new General Data Protection Regulations this May. The aim of the new regulations is to strengthen and harmonise data protection laws across the EU. Employers will be required to comply with the new rules governing the processing of personal data, including those relating to consent, transparency and access rights from 25th May 2018.
At QBH Solutions we have been running a series of clinics in the first quarter of the year aimed at getting local businesses prepared for the new regulations – it’s been a real eye-opener as far as lack of understanding around the new regulations and indeed the volume of mis-information that seems to be out there.
